Memorial Dog Tags
Using masking on photoshop, these dog tags were later engraved in memorial of the great beings they depict.

A Slight Overview of the Steps Involved
In order to engrave pictures onto the dog tag, there was a masking process involved from photoshop in order to remove the original background (this process can be found in my final poster; Dog Rugby). Then the images had to be converted to black and white and inverted. The laser engraver carves out black and leaves the white as is with the dog tag background; inverting makes the pictures more visible with this process.

Silohettes and text are a simpler process, just following the basic principle that black gets engraved and white does not.
