The SnapPower Charger is a brand new and revolutionary way to charge anything "USB compatible."  Built into what resembles a normal outlet cover, is a USB device charging port where most household technologies can be plugged in to 'rejuice;' these can range from anything like phones, to Kindles, to laptops, and even certain cameras.  This technology eliminates the hassle of using an adaptor (the cumbersome, and usually blocky, component) to connect the USB wire to an outlet; and is also designed to be sleek in order to fit behind furniture and remain discreet.  This charger leaves both outlets open as the USB charging port is located underneath the traditional double outlet design.

The SnapPower Charger does not contain messes of wires like some adaptors need in order to work, instead it has two prongs that pull power from the screws on the sides of the outlet.  This simply dynamic means it is east to put on and take off; just screw and unscrew like a normal outlet cover.  It is also advertised to be perfect for renters because it can be taken off easily and replaced with its original covers.

I found this technology interesting because it is yet another example of engineering that makes life easier; creating a USB adaptor onto an outlet cover allows its user to be more effecient with multiple units that can be plugged in.  It will impact the majority of the human population as it aims to help those who own handheld technologies (which, these days, is most of the world); plus its affordability allows it to be owned by more families.  The goal for production, if the charger reached its kickstarter goal of 35,000 dollars, is to be afforable for most people to acquire.  The price for one if you back the kickstarter is 16 dollars, so a produced unit would be somewhere in the ballpark of 20-25 dollars.  This technology has not been mass produced, but should be soon due to the fact that the kickstarter account earned 765,207 dollars out of the needed 35,000.  There is additional peace of mind in knowing that the creaters of the SnapPower Charger also mass produced "SnapPower Guidelights" (an outlet cover that doubled as a nightlight) through a kickstarter account and are thriving from that creation.

There are several technologies that mimic the SnapPower charger, (such as the AQ Lighting Duplex with USB ports), but all contain a high amount of wiring, are not removable from the wall, and/or are not concealable; they stand out like a sore thumb.

I believe the SnapPower Charger will be a sustaining idea because it appeals to so many individuals and aims to make life much easier.
